I think Akari has been in Sato's place before, as in: he had someone "lure" him in with some half-assed attitude, he fell in love and that person left him after "deciding" they were straight after all. Now, he's seeing the same pattern happen with his friends and trying to stop the same outcome.
Or maybe he's had feelings for Sato all along but never made his move because he believed he is straight (and thus could lead a "normal" life), so he's jealous of Mikami for being brave enough to assume his feelings.
I think the first theory is much better plotwise tho ╮(￣▽￣)╭
