I can understand the frustrations of some of the readers honestly. I don’t think a lot of people here are upset because they’re not getting enough kisses or sexual components in the story. We can all agree that shounen ai webtoons are the last place for anyone to look to for realism when it comes to plots anyways. It’s more about story pacing. It’s pretty clear that this webtoon follows a more shoujo-esque pattern of storytelling, which can of course come across as more “dramatic”. It’s like with each new chapter starts a new story arc with its own dilemma, which can be frustrating for a lot of readers. Initially, it was Yuyang’s one-sides crush, moving forward to Yuyang’s insecurities with his family, and now we have a past boyfriend in highschool. 77 chapters in, it isn’t unreasonable when some readers find themselves losing track of the story. Any story writing is meant to keep the audience captivated, and when they start noticing a trend, it tends to become monotonous. This is not to take away from the issues portrayed in the webtoon, insecurities and misunderstandings are quite common in reality, but it can become less interesting if there is no progress shown. One step forward, two steps back sort of situation. Still, the characters and art are quite enjoyable, so I’m still willing to enjoy the slow burn. But this is definitely a *slooow* burn.

Finally someone who makes sense! Your comment was long but worth it. I sometimes feel that all these issues is not helping yuyang grow because we keep going back to zero with every misunderstanding. Its not fair to his awesome personality. However lihuan has really grown into an awesome character even though he was introduced as an introvert

I really just hoping, that it isn't such a slow burn like skip beat or so. 200+ ch, and the main couple still aren't together. I mean, I know that it's a complete different story line, where there IS more story line, but come on... I'm crying over 10 years already.

That’s exactly what makes it a little frustrating. You start of with a dynamic character like Yuyang who’s confident and proud even in a homophobic society, and an introvert like Lihuan with little to go for in terms of personality. But now we see a shift in dynamics, with no result coming from
the equation. So you end up with a more vulnerable Yuyang and proactive Lihuan, and can’t even enjoy them to the fullest without getting something out of their changes.

Pretty sure it won’t go down that road, shounen ai webtoon don’t get serialized the same way as shoujo webtoons. But more than likely the way I see this ending is at around 100 chapters with the last one being where the story finally gets a conclusive ending of mutual confessions only in the last chapter. And then some small short stories to fulfill the fan’s needs somewhat.

Exactly...i made this point in a previous comment and mentioned how annoyed i was at the author for taking this in a different tangent...i ended up getting a negative comment and told to chill. I am so glad there is some1 with a similar view to me

I think a lot of people don’t realize that they have to understand this from the reader’s point of view. While yes, Yuyang’s situation is very easily plausible in reality, you don’t seem to find anything helping him progress or move forward since there is such a strong lack of communication. So the readers have to view this frustration. Not like they can shout at Yuyang “HEY YOU ARE VALID AND PEOPLE LOVE YOU.” That’s supposed to be what the writer should be adding to the story through some plot of character development. It’s starting to get redundant and stagnant. But everyone has their own opinions with the story so who are we to say anything ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
