Oh but he does though, you see the chapter where the mothers' kept comparing their husbands' social status and their sons' achievements, then they finally talk about hyeongoh's achievement being the top student
Because of this ritualistic comparison and needing to keep up to his parent's desire of him to be the top, he felt that what that he needs to stay at the top to keep up to his parent's expectations and it gets worse when the Hyeongoh defeats him to be the top which is why he starts manipulating people to hurt him.
All these symptoms and actions he takes are from his inferiority complex.
This is a severely underrated psychological manga that needs more recognition
I would say that it is a rather realistic manga that showcases the different types of mental conditions most humans have such as;
Nam soo/Lee sun = Kind of a sociopath / severe brother complex (not in a bad way)
Geum soo = Inferiority complex
Nam soo's foster father = severe depression which lead to his death
and many more.
Overall, this is a must read manga for those of you just starting the manga and I am happy that the evildoers got what they deserved and really appreciate the author for sending Nam soo to a mental facility to receive help instead of a happily ever after crap where he walks away scot free.
