Idk why but I just started dying when I read this
But he thinks it will bring her happiness and he desperately wants to bring her happiness. Still not saying it was right but the reason was NOT selfishness. I also think he should have asked because forcing anything on someone is wrong, even if it's happiness.
I honestly think it was really selfish of him to put the ring on her without her consent, knowing fully well it can't be removed once put on. Who the hell do you think you are? God??ಠ╭╮ಠ
