Like a lot people say it is necrophilia, which is true from what normal people think;
But that is the beauty of different art styles like drawing and writing. We create stuffs that are unimaginable in real world. We get rid of the shell of what humans think and really feel the ideas the expresser/creator tries to convey.
Like for me, I have always been okay reading intimate relationships with monsters(as long as the depiction is not gross...) I know I would not want to see them in real life, let alone accepting it. But with the mask people created to fancy whatever that is human considered normal, we think from a new perspective. We put human natures to things.
So after all, they are human creations and that is why we think this story is cute, and we feel connected to it.
