While I was reading this, I was definitely thinking about the same question and I first thought is that people are sensitive to romance between teachers and students, plus the teacher was having sex with a married man. After reading it I thought the reason might be that this story is not really the hot, smug or dramatic type. I feel it is like telling an ordinary story. I like it but maybe many people find it boring is my guess.
