Seems to be a form of dissociative identity disorder. Instead of picking up an alternate personality he forgets what happened to him. He forget the bad things.

Emotions suppressing is one thing, but.... what i understood was how he lied to him not only once....but....like....i don't know how did this have a happy ending but it did ╮(￣▽￣)╭
Like everyone is saying, it need more chapters to give us the natural feeling of it~
