ccsmonkey December 21, 2017 3:09 am

I'm so disappointed... I really NEEDED them to fuck. Now it's all left to the imagination T__T I don't understand why the Shounen Ai genre even exists, lol.

Because sex doesn't (or shouldn't) solidify or define relationships?

I'm simply questioning why these guys need to "fuck" when that's not always the focus of a relationship.

Because they're human beings...? I didn't say It would be the focus of anything, just a treat for readers. No need to take it that far.

I'm responding to the part where you said you didn't understand why the shounen-ai genre even exists. To me, it sounds like you want everyone in a relationship to "fuck" regardless of their relationship dynamic because it's a "treat for the readers". All I can think of is, "Man, this user is thirsty" since you said you "really needed them to fuck". If the author wants it this way, then their relationship is the way it is. All relationships are different. Theirs can be one without sex. That's all I'm saying.

I was more disappointed in how quickly everything was resolved. No, it didn't need to drag out, but a little more would have been nice. And this Manhwa deserves it because it was so good. Guess I'll just have to see what the side stories are gonna give us.

I have the right to voice my opinion, just like everyone else, and you can disagree but i REALLY don't appreciate your judgemental tone, since you're at a website that hosts images of really explicit shit that me, and many other users personally like. So what if i'm thirsty? None of your business anyway. And not all of us have to censor our thoughts because we are repressed as your are. So my advise to you is, stop judging people you don't want to understand: you have no idea of what the ideals of a relationship are for me, and my comments in a manga website don't necessarily have to reflect on them. Good day.

I agree, imo there had to be some issues with the author going on that didn't allow the story to get the closure it deserved. This was so promising... So sad.

I apologize if I sounded judgmental. I understand that this site hosts a bunch of NSFW comics. I read a whole bunch of them myself. However, my point is with this comic in particular. To me, Taemin and Siwoon's relationship is fine as it is. Why force sex into it if that was not the goal of the author? Sex should not be the end game to any relationship. These two can still express their love in other ways. However, I can see that many comics treat sex that way. Once there's sex, it's the end of the story. I know these are fictional stories with fictional characters, but to comment, saying that you don't understand why the shounen-ai genre doesn't exist? I mean, I can see the "lol" at the end of your post, but it just sounds like you are forcing your ideals. And you're right, I don't know exactly what they are, but that particular comment made me think the way I think. My response to this initially was going to be, "It exists because not all relationships are based on sex or even needs sex". Some romantic relationships are just platonic in nature. This might be what the author intended, or maybe they didn't want to show that development. Who knows.

I know people read yaoi for a number of reasons. But it rubs me the wrong way when people say things like "I wish this wasn't shounen-ai". Why? Why can't readers just enjoy the comic the way it is? Yaoi itself is already objectifying men, but why do that for shounen-ai as well?

Again, I'm sorry that I offended you. I hope you have a nicer day.

Thank you for clarifying you weren't judging, we should be able to express our points of view without being offended. I understand what you're saying and agree with you in many ways, although I don't think sex will objectify or dilute the meaningfulness of the main character's relationship. In fact, many shounen Ai stories have sex involved between characters, but these scenes are censored or implicit. In movies this is also very common, although it isn't necessarily the writer's preference, or the director's.

The explicit sex scenes are by no means a prerequisite for a great love story in mangas, as you said, and this story is an example of that. For me, personally, It would have made the evolution of the relationship more natural, because they're young men, and given that it wasn't born out of (platonic) admiration or brotherly love. There is a lot of sexual tension that was unresolved (frustrating), as were many other issues going on with this sudden ending that I thought was soooooo unsatisfying. That was what I meant in my first comment, and obviously, I prefer sex scenes to censorship: I like to see it in mangas and I don't think such scenes will STAIN the story. Sex is NATURAL and beautiful when portrayed in a proper way, and more importantly, when it is out of LOVE. That's something worth seeing.

Now that you have elaborated, I see where you are going. I agree that there was sexual tension. Maybe their relationship could have developed into one with a sexual, but also healthy, nature, but the author decided not to show that. We really don't know. I do think it was okay to leave it ambiguous at the end since it would mean not dealing with who is the top and bottom during sex. This is in consideration of Taemin's no longer being in his original body. Honestly, I wish the author changed some of the plot details, so that he did get it back. You could tell that the author probably likes it that way based on the extras. It's kind of upsetting that the younger brother has a terrible ending and that Taemin has to live using another's identity. There was no real closure, and nothing was truly resolved. I did read from earlier comments that something made the author end the series quickly. I'm not sure if it's because of an internal Lezhin problem or what.

I agree with your last comment. Sex can be portrayed beautifully. I'm sorry if I headed in too rashly into the discussion without asking you to elaborate. My point still stands though that I think that shounen-ai comment could have been revised. This comic didn't showcase any snippets of sex (so far, not sure about extras), which is why I thought that the author intended to keep it platonic, that is, nothing sexual but still romantic.

But I'm glad we didn't end this discussion on a sour note. I hated how I acted towards you and how it upset you. When I reread my comments, it sounded rude. My heart was pumping and I was thinking, "Man, I hope this person doesn't take it the wrong way." I usually want to discuss in a calm manner because I know people have different opinions.
