A lot of fujoushi friends hate me for that, I use the same reason :"As long as it has a plot why wouldn't one read it? Its still a manga" Then they'll start arguing:

I agree with you. And that's literally what I say all the time. I don't think the genre matters if the story has a nice plot (although I don't really mind the strange genres either XD)

when you read too many yaoi/mangas so you kinda want to try some new things so you read things you have never read before and it goes on for sometime and finally you have become immune to things that others don't really find amusing or understand.
