it so totally was rape. the other party never gave a signal that its okay. he could have just been sound asleep.

In this case, the reality was that he was not asleep and both later acknowledged the incident as it being consensual. If he was actually asleep, then yes, it would have been rape.

The outcome does not justify the action, like no way.
(but i guess whatever, if rape starts a fluffy and nice relationship in manga, hell im in)

The definition is it being not consensual and in this case, it was consensual so that's what I am going based on since the uke admitted to it being consensual and he was not asleep. It's a tricky situation and there are people who view cats calls as rape, so it can get grey when discussing this but I view people who are actually asleep being raped different from him, who was pretending to be asleep and admitting it was consensual.

It wasn't a rape. If it was, uke would be angry and it would hurt. BUT! He even prepared him.

Over the course of reading Yaoi, I encountered the term "dub-con" or dubious consent. It was consensual but not exactly how it should be.

It was consensual and therefore, not rape but it was a bad way to get to sex so I agree with you there. Both of them acted dumb. Pretending to be asleep and drunk so you can get laid? Lol

Well the author needed to write an interesting story, you know. It's a fun doing that I bet, irl, but for role playing usually, not for getting a guy the first time and building a relationship from it. Lol.

I wouldn't do that in real life, especially for my first time but this case had a lot do with their shared history. At least they are more honest now.

I think some would but definitely not for the first time. Role playing is usual and kink for many so some may dig this scenario. It's pretty good. But a no no for hitting up your crush. Lol. I like that the author addressed it, I think that was the best part of the series for me.
