All the Eldians were victims here. Sure, Eldians shared the blames for what their ancestors had done to Marleyans in the past.
But right now, the Marleyans were so blinded by hatred, revenge, and power. They insisted on attacking the Paradise Island even though the Eldians there did nothing to them anymore. They colonized and brainwashed the Elodians in their island, and glorified a propaganda "be a warrior! sacrifice your life to kill our enemies – who are actually your own people!" This is so disturbingly disgusting.
I also hated Reiner and was extremely pleased when Bertholdt was eaten by Armin. But now, I realize they were also the victims, even Reiner's mother. And now Reiner started to realize this.
So, fuck Marleyans.
