Not sure but I think some series are in both yaoi and shounen ai sections (I don't know why tho since it can't be both at the same time)

maybe it started off shounen-ai but then went into yaoi territory as the story got further along; the original tag/genre/rating level wasn't changed thus you get explicit sex when you don't want it
one thing you can do is read a few of the comments and if they say anything about there being sex then you can avoid the story ;; I know this could lead to lots of spoilers but at least disruption of your good time would be lessened
