Turns out Sculptor acts the way he does because his mom made him act roles as a kid, not as an actor but she gave him children's books and novels and told him to act as one of the characters, she did this because Sculptor's father neglected them and thought that if they all played their role they may become a happy family, but it doesn't work and the mom hangs herself in the basement, Sculptor's work that author said looked like the sun is actually the silhouette of his hanged mom.
Shit happens, I don't remember well, but Author goes in the deep end and ends up killing Sculptor after he was pushed too far by both the sculptor and the red guy, red guy sees this and helps him escape and hides Author in his house, but it's too late for Author, now he too is plagued by the vision of Sculptor dying and starts to draw the same shapes as him.
There is no happy ending, he ends up in red guy's house sure, but his mind never scapes Sculptor, and I doubt the 'love's red guy had for him is any less toxic than Sculptor's 'love'.
