because as mentioned, it's happening too soon according to the timeline she knows, in which he becomes a war hero - it wasn't originally like this! that's why she's worried the future might change; she can't know anything for certain, after all.
Even though she internalizes that she has a bit of worries, she knows the future and what will happen. So, how can she stop/persuade her husband to quit if she knows that is what he would become: a hero...... I mean..... kill or be killed (just a question.)
