My Dear that is why the settings of this story is the best.and my favourite, Royalties and Nobles have their Rules, Dukes are below title of Emperor & Princess and Elyssee is a Princess & this is an arrange Marriage by the Emperor himself given to him & you Can Never say No to that or Off to ur head or be prison, even Nobles need permission to their Emperor to get married.
That is why you must be cunning, meticulous and wiser.

I can see what you’re saying, but I believe they have different characters. Elyssee was given chances to get divorced but did not. ML never loved her and she is still holding on to that. I also believe Elyssee isn’t as moral as FL is. FL in Elyssee shoes would’ve accepted the divorce and been a boss as bitch. Elysee is conniving and uses others around her to create harm. But that’s just my opinion

Your opinion is unpopular because you haven't read far enough to get the full picture. The duke didn't choose to get married to her and Elysee knows this. She forced him into this marriage through her political connections. She's a skunk and he owes her nothing.
Think about it. Your husband brought a mistress. If this was a story from her perspective, you won’t exactly hate her. You’ll understand her actions. But since it was written with Sally’s POV, and she’s the FL - the fact that she’s a mistress is not a concern. For me, the biggest AH in this story is the ML. Why get married if you didn’t want to in the first place. Why become a duke if you can’t rid of one woman? Elyssee is also a victim.
