I did not read the novel but I hearsay the ending which depressed me. Which is the reason why I did not read the novel. The guy that loved him died and yet he forgives and get back with the prince. Awful yet, typical ending.

First the enemy tortures him put him in cage and distorts his face his eyes and became afraid of people getting close to him. I can't describe exactly since it's has been a long time but I remember comparing his situation to that man from game of thrones then he died in that cage from fire explosion I don't exactly remember
