None of the money she uses is his and he can’t divorce her bec it was a royal decree from a royal who is no longer alive. It shows that he tried that stuff and none of it worked bec of her influence. So instead he is trying to make her look bad bec she cares the most about that.
Does anyone know why the duke can’t do jack to Élysée like I don’t know cut her budget, ruin her precious garden, fire her maid… something idk anything he’s a damn duke after all and she’s just his wife. Sure she might come from an influential family but the duke is the lord of the house even if he becomes a tyrant/villain he has the power to make elysees life as duchess hell
