I get what you say, to me he's a pervert in the sense that he doesn't really love Cain, it's more of a feeling of possession and lust. He doesn't care for him he just didn't expect Cain to only feel fatherly love towards him and that's not how he pictured it. First he didn't have sexual desires and it was only obsession and possession, but when he matured he started also having thoughts about fucking him
I do think he knows it now, but when everything played I don't think he realized and when a part of him realized, Vercicke didn't stop, he didn't try to put some distance. No, he bit Ken making his life miserable just to have a taste of his once obsession, he kidnapped him, had sex with Ken's best friend and brotherly figure in the same room. He doesn't respect Cain nor Ken. He's a kid who lost a toy and now he's throwing a tantrum

Also , in the story it looks like every vampire is greedy as fuck, because of how they grew up (The father of Cain telling him not to trust anyone, all the other vampire meant to just be pet and accepted their condition, even tho it's humiliating)

Even though the artist keeps showing how Ver had a difficult life....I still can't like him. He's now seeking revenge against everyone, killing as if it meant nothing (and at this point I know it means nothing to him). The church is the same, but Ver is just a big pervert who thought he loved Cain, his step-father (that's a big ew in my vocabulary) while he just found him attractive through his blood and is still thinking that way. Ruining Ken's life by biting him and making him remember how Cain actually loved Ver but Ver just wanted to fuck. I know a lot of you like him, but to me he's a big no, don't care about his story and actually would like for him to vanish and let Ken and Argia actually discover what they have to do to break the prophecy without Ver stalling the process
