My opinion

I actually like the story, the plot, and the art. Oh how beautiful, the art.

However, I don't really like the characters. This is probably the first one for me, where I appreciate everything except for the characters. My first impression on them made me feel suspicious of everyone, I also hated the Male Lead. Like, I genuinely hated him, not much character development until their growth spurt. This is the same for the FL too. I mean, even when she got out of the house, she never gained the courage to at least be more confident and free. She keeps bowing in a way that servants bow when by etiquette, a gentleman's bow is more elegant and respectable so I thought she would use that, given that she was a male then. This was one of the reasons why, even when no one knew she's a bastard child at the time, people kept stepping on her. She lacks confidence and shows it to people, giving them the satisfaction to rule over her.

What's more, what the heck is wrong with the people around her. They keep seeing her as an object or just a pretty face, even her father deceived me into thinking he cared for her only to sell her to the enemy kingdom's crown prince. Her stepmother is also crazy, like, I really thought she was at least rational, like she's not someone who would kill someone out of spite, but NO. She kept abusing the FL and then attempted to kill her in the end.

To be honest, I think this story is better off written as a psychological genre. The characters were made that way. Actually, now that I think about it, I won't give this full points. It's too much drama and pity parties for the MC when she had a lot of chances to prove herself and fight back.

Well, I suppose it was written that way. I guess I'm just too used to reading stories where the MC gets revenge and all so this genre didn't really sync in with me.
