Nah there's no evidence he's less loveable or kind. He's in a very big position of power (the fucking king) and the mc has drawn a big emotional line between them that is not easy to cross. He can't be so free in expressing affection.
It’s okay dude, I’m with you too. I’m all for the guard as well, he’s such a cinnamon roll so far :c the king seems to keep pushing his limits (to be fair!! as the others have mentioned he’s never crossed any lines which I’m grateful for bc I’m so tired of the SA trope) but the power imbalance and how he kinda uses his position a little a couple times to get him to agree to things feels a little icky (he is a king is guess so what’s the MC gonna do). His interest in the MC also feels more like “ooohh no one has ever done this to me before, you’re so new and how can you not like me when everyone else does?” More “I’m interested bc you keep rejecting me” instead of secret feelings for MC. Again, this is just imo, it’s how the vibes feel to me so far idk
