From my understanding, I think at the end Xiao yi said Dongbao is one calamity away, so i think what this means is that dongbao has to go through one last time as a mortal before fully becoming an immortal/god. That's why Dongbao and Xiaoyi become a student, Xiaoyi is accompanying Dongbao in his last calamity as a mortal to become god.(づ￣ ³￣)づ Or... Xiaoyi asked Dongbo whether he wants an endless life or dozens days of happiness, meaning, whether Dongbao wants to be an immortal god with an endless life or give up being a god and just be a mortal with short life spans but filled with happiness. What this means is Xiaoyi is no longer an immortal god, but he became a mortal to be together with Dongbao since god can't be together with mortal, and his fate/destiny was definitely intertwined with Dongbao, so they're definitely gonna be happy.(⌒▽⌒)
