This is just my opinion but isn't it too hypocritical for wanting people to accept you for being homosexual but then disregard and invalidate other sexualities? They're no different than people who tell them that homosexuality just a phase because they also think that people who aren't exclusively homosexual (such as asexual, pansexual, bisexual, etc) is also a phase. The only thing they accept is straight or gay, which is why I don't necessarily sympathise with them when they bring down other people for being attracted to the same-sex just because they're not "gay enough" or that they don't have "the same trauma and experiences". Regardless of your negative experiences, I don't think it's fair to force and tell people who they should be attracted to because as mentioned, you are no different from homophobics (but in this case you aren't homophobic - if you're gay - but just straight up disrespectful and disgusting for doing so)
