I think you guys are being a bit harsh about the ML rn. I keep seeing a lot of comments on rape and grooming but you are forgetting that sex is literally the only thing the mermaid wants. Yes she didn't know what it entails, but it was her goal and she was happy to have it. Of course the ML is clearly a piece of shit to her in terms of attitude but she also is using him to have a baby and then leave, her usage of him just seems more innocent because she has such a cultural difference and lack of understanding of humans. Her naivety makes you think of her as a child but that's not really what it is, she's just not human.
