They go to war, the next thing in the original work is that og Edith helps her family to get into the house by unlocking doors and putting people to sleep with incense. Therefore, MC Edith is trying to stop that, and while checking the house, she notices that someone is unlocking the doors and I think they also left sleepy incense around the house (someone was communicating with the Rigelhof and helping them). Edith succeeds with securing the house.
So the next plan of the Rigelhof was to kidnap them on their way back from a party which they succeed). While kidnapped Edith is tortured by that maid, when the maid is gone, she convinced 2 mercenaries to leave since Cliff soon will arrive to save them, they loose her rope and flee, Cliff arrives to save everyone and capture their enemies, because he was only worried about Rize and his mother he doesn't check every corner of the hide out leaving Edith behind (Rize also had something to do with it).
Edith wakes up cold all beaten up and notice that she was not rescued , she starts to think that Cliff did not find her or he did and decided to leave her, she thought it was the latter because Rize knew she was there with them. She manage to escape that place and starts to put into place the plan where she leaves to a place where no one could find her and be able to see Killian from afar.

This is info of when they were being kidnapped, The long haired glasses guy (I'm blanking out on his name) gets there, tries to save them, but gets knock out. But before that he sees how Edith also fights to save them but she gets punched and knock out too (my girl gets hit a lot). The one that kidnapped them was Edith's "brother"
Cliff ask that fxxking maid where is Edith, she responds that their young lady wouldn't be in a place like that and Cliff believes her and that he will find her and punish her (I hate them both and want to puch them). While Cliff is rescuing the kidnapped women, the Duke and Killian are about to put an end to the war and win. Killian doesn't know that the women have been kidnapped (they did not want to tell him). When they are back from, Cliff gives his report and Killian ask where is Edith, Cliff tells him that she was part of it, they could not bring her because she was not there as the maid told them. When Killian heard that it was the maid who told them Edith was not there, he set off to that place.
When he got there, he started to search meticulously and found they way to basement where Edith was, it was easy to miss, he saw the blood and that it looked like someone was tortured there, his heart ached. One of the mercenaries, that Edith helped and gave her necklace, was there, he came back to help Edith escape. He got captured and he told Killian everything that happened to Edith and wanted to return her necklace. Killian took it back and gave him some coins for it, the man did not want to accept it but I think at the end he did. Thus start the search for Edith, Killian to take her to his land and protect her, Cliff to punish her.
Edith was able to survive thanks to a noble couple, then she goes I think is the capital and rest in a inn and her departure kept getting delaying by first choosing where to go, felling sick and other things for days. But when she heard the news that the traitors were finally being executed and were close to find her she finally decided to board the train but she couldn't stop thinking about Killian and that she didn't want to live far from him and better be killed by his hand, and then the duke's men find her and take her back to the Ducal house as a prisioner.
