Yeah, It does make it weird af. I read 29 chapters and still don't understand the FL' s (the stepmother) way of thinking. She likes MC but instead of trying to befriend her, she decided to become her stepmother instead. I get that she wanted to be close to MC, but becoming her new mother is just a dumb move.
Like didn't she think about the shit that can happen if she manages to make MC fall in love with her? To me, it feels like the author just wanted a story about stepmom x stepdaughter so badly that they forgot to think about anything else.
