It was honestly dumb, ML thought mc was only with him because she needed to marry a prince but she actually wanted to marry a "prince" because he was one, then because he was still in love with her despite being mad at the thought of her only being with him for his status he acted coldly.
Then this faction that intended to screw over the MLs relationship with his brother appeared the brothers made up this whole scheme
Plan was pretend to like traitor girl, act like you're planning on marrying her by breaking off engagement with MC, draw out traitors, wipe them out, get back with MC, but then everything goes to shit when MC straight up disappears on him which wasn't in his plans. (Maybe give them a heads up next time idk)
ML did feel affection for the girl it wasn't romantic or sexual in any way, more like the affection one would have for a sibling/ child , BUT THEN he realized that the cold MC actually showed off jealousy and sadness when she saw them hanging out together and he's hyped cus omg she feels something for me
MC apologized because she wasn't honest about how she felt with the ML( but given the situation who tf would) and ML apologized because he realized he was way too prideful and stubborn when it came to being honest towards the MC.
