Well, malnourishment can at times stunt someone's growth properly. It'll take years for her to finally grow now that she is in a much better environment. Even gaining royalty status, being part royalty as well thanks to the founder of her house being from the royal family originally and becoming the head of her old home.
While the age gap is severely wide, this is not too bad. The former King isn't forceful nor is he grooming her either. He is giving affection to a girl who never got it at all from the age of 10 and onwards. I honestly wouldn't mind him being the ML, but he did say he would let her go if she found the one she truly loves that isn't him and he is fine with that.
She’s still going to be 1/3 of his age whether she’s grows up to be a healthy young lady or not.

I don't believe so at all. Many people with age gaps, no matter how wide, can fall in love. With each other.
