I've read it that's why I made this comment. The reason why I'm questioning the rating is coz I've seen much better mangas/manhwas with way better storyline and characters with ratings below 8.
What you consider to have "better" storyline or characters is your respectful opinion which can either agree with the crowd or not, which again the ratings elaborate. Maybe the mangas you think are great, aren't that great in the majority's opinion and maybe this work that you didn't enjoy so much, people actually liked better.
And that is why I find it weird people are more inclined towards this storyline which brings us back to my og comment

never trust ratings tbh there are some incredible stories with lower ratings and some very questionable stories with higher ones. Better to try something yourself to see if it's something you want to read
