What I saw in spoilers: that was medicine she has to take from imperial family, that’s why mom forced her to marry them to live. Idk about after effects of taking drug. Why imperial family? Someone said they are the only distributors not sure if it’s true, anyway probably novel would work like this: her husband would miraculously find cure somewhere, but it is my guessing
