I feel like people are misunderstanding the ML a bit. I have never hated him once. Yes he’s cruel and cold and literally dgaf about the concubines and FL at the start, but it’s clear he’s had a terrible and horrific childhood which lead him to this. And the concubines were almost all psychotic and all were political things anyway
Believe it or not, even in the previous timeline, he treated her the best of the concubines. He actually healed her eyes, and he heals NO ONE and they were enemies. Oh and they were ENEMIES. Of course he takes her prisoner and locks her up. Yes maybe not let the concubines torture her, but safeguarding an enemy prisoner was hardly his priority during a war and he didn’t ask them psychos to do it. He also offered her more than once to side with him, and he doesn’t do that for anyone else.
So even past life ML was actually randomly better to FL than anyone else.
Now he’s all in with her and his ice heart is melting, and hers is too, and they’re beautifully ruthlessly, psychotic together. And he totally gets her whole revenge thing which is also awesome.
