I don't know if they were mentally ill but they were introverted and had a book that they collected a bunch of people's addresses, phone numbers, class schedule, ect. They liked anime so we became friends but were never close. Found out they had a crush on me and things got creepy as hell. I certainly wouldn't want to experience that again.

Don't know how old you are but I'm well into adulthood now. That happened to be when I was in middle school. Having someone like that calling you when you didn't give them your number and possibly knowing where you live is pretty creepy.
