She’s written to be helpless and emotionally dependent precisely because that’s the only way she could end up with a man like Killian. She is not written as an autonomous character, but rather to accommodate all of his shitty behavior as a supporting romantic interest. Basically she is the main character in terms of screen time and perspective, but a supporting character in terms of writing
Knowing that did not make a less exasperating reading experience nor does it make me want to rescind my statement of "I hope [Killian] goes blind forever because wtf".
I cannot believe Rowena is so helpless they had to get a comatose man to miraculously wake up and save her. Every time I see a scene of her crying over Killian I just start malding.
