I think it’s because she believed she was in the story she wrote for her happiness. In that story Thor was the main knight that was supposed to protect her. Unlike in her real world, where she had no one that would put her first and protect her.
I still don't understand why she was so obsessed with Thor even before Makia appeared in her life.
