Agreed it’s a way more realistic take on how men treated women back then (which still hasn’t changed in many ways….) so yes even I don’t particularly care for the ml but I think that’s what makes it interesting bc you can slowly see the changes in him^^ he’s not very redeemable rn but I feel that all the comments will love him later once he stops being a typical alpha male
Agreed, plus he is actually willing to listen to the fl who he doesn't need to listen to at all. He's in a position of very high power and she's rock bottom. But when she didn't want him to sleep with her, he backed off whenever she said no. He also spared the ppl she asked him to spare when she make a good argument. He can easily be tyrannical, but that's too easy, so I think he really enjoys logical debates and shows how intelligent and strategical he is. And for the fl, I'm kinda like the ml where I want to see what kinds of things spark some sort of emotion in her. Obviously she's had a rough life and her stone face is her defense mechanism, but how she lights up when she's debating/doing politics and just little things that surprise her makes me intrigued. I'm sure by ml finding these little things that chip away at her ice queen persona will only increase both their character developments. I know some ppl think both of them are kinda extreme at the beginning, ice queen and war monger Playboy, but I'm hoping the their character development going down the road will be so satisfying.
I find the ML to be really intriguing and real so I am kind shocked in the reception it’s getting in the comments. Often, my biggest gripe with historical manhwas is how perfect characters are. They always make the perfect choice and have they are all powerful. I really like how the ML’s mentality regarding women seems more likely in a historical context and how i imagine how he will develop as he grows to love the FL. It’s not the best, he’s a playboy creep who views women only for his pleasure but he also strives to help unfortunate men. I am not saying I like him, but I like his character. He’s not a good person but he’s not a monster and I can appreciate that the author is making a human character. Of course, it’s totally reasonable to not like him. He pisses me off sometimes but I personally like the development! Unironically, my only complaint is that the FL feels too fictional but like the ML, she will also get her character development.
