Obsession is not love you know, also I'm sure the mother didn't expect to be treated like a slave and she did give the brooch to strengthen her position but the viscount just brush it off and hide it. Also the viscount has a grudge on the vilois family and decided to torment them.
I think I'll prefer the obsession of a handsome man rather than running away unless he is the type that doesn't listen to her and do whatever he wants toward the mother.
Nevermind, I read the spoiler that the mother also same as the MC and she ran away because she needs to follow the plot.
I'm in the second chapter but I don't understand why the mother escaped from the obsession of her husband and ran to an abusive viscount??? Is the obsession really bad until she prefers for her and her daughter to get abused?
