Yeah fr but also the only people who knew etienne is an omega were killed when he was born so the emperor really never had a chance, not only that but the empress has so much power that it’s basically inconceivable for those who do know (etiennes personal assistant and the doctor) to do anything about his situation. Hopefully it all changes, I want etienne to become emperor!
I was thinking about a scenario where Etienne himself would trust the emperor enough to tell, but that may just put them both in a bad spot against the empress. Regardless, hopefully all changes! I want Etienne to either become emperor and ML his consort, breaking the discrimination laws, or Etienne to become his empress - mainly because it would be funny seeing him topple his mother and steal her power for himself
It’s definitely not safe for etienne to trust the emperor right now, I personally don’t think the emperor actually cares/cared enough about etienne to deserve it. Though I do want the emperor and ML to find out about the abuse.

I have mixed feelings about the dad (present emperor). Because he is very much a victim of rape that had to stay married to his abuser under coercion, but he also left a kid with that same person. I understand not wanting to be involved with a child conceived from your violation, but sadly in this situation he was the only one with any power or inclination to protect Etienne at least a little bit from the empress, and he choose not to. I don't think the emperor could take him away from her completely due to his lack of familial connections on the maternal side, but he could've reduced the damage significantly and take him in after she dropped Etienne for being discovered as an omega. It is a bit cruel to pin responsibility on the emperor, because again he was raped, but there was literally no one who could've done more than him, and he just acted like the person who was capable of threatening someone's life while violating them would be above hurting her own child
