The pacing thing, yep. Snip-snip chapters like these really lose you in letting you take the story seriously… and that’s sad.
(Case’s not to be confused with a chapter kept short with a purpose, for the sake of storytelling.)
Oh I agree!!! There are cases where short and simple chapters are perfect, but this was weird... The way each chapter ends in the middle of something rather than at a natural moment or climax is strange. It really loses the immersion and any seriousness the manga may have.
Now we know why he's rich LOL he must be a best seller. But I like how responsible he was when the guy was in high school, I mean like even when they graduate they're still like kids. The chapters are sooooooo short though, and they cut off at weird times like in the middle of a conversation. It makes the pacing even more awkward than it is LOL
