I feel like maybe because of Hugo’s hatred towards everything in the past and cold blooded attitude made it easy for Set the demon to fill Hugo’s mind with false information and to blame MC for crimes he never committed and possibly even blaming MC of trying to take over the family especially with his success in the past, MC mentioned that Hugo was paranoid so it could’ve been very easy for someone with a silver tongue to say a few suggestive words to make chaos happen
