yep it’s really upsetting and its actually very common for hearing families not knowing and using sign language for their deaf family member
I think it's good practice for deaf people though bc sign language is not common knowledge ao if they practice writing and reading lips more it would be easier for them in life then using sign language which no one knows but I too think they should atleast learn it. I actually thought that they might know it bur aren't using it on purpose but looks like that's not the case

I think the only thing that makes me more upset is the parent don’t know any sign language but her best friend learned just for her
