its kinda funny you point this out but the thing being criticized is unnecessary rape the main character always experiences in yaoi not villains or morally grey characters. it’s one thing to have it for the sake of plot or storytelling but people can be shocked when the story they’re reading throws in another rape fantasy or marathon just because ?

SOME stories MAY have that element at some point and for sure even if 20 years will pass you will still see these elements in YAOI unless the definition of Yaoi will change.

there’s plenty of content for all audiences, all types of stories, but english readers really complain about the same thing over and over in EVERY manhwa, for example I remember reading every type of bullshit about the JINX author cause of the type of story their like to write, people know the content but insist in reading and criticize the same thing they don’t like to read, its fucking exhausting.
