i am still a bit disappointed since i read spoilers that it was kael who begged hestia to let diana go(i don't exactly remember which instance).. He begged hestia to not concentrate on revenge on diana but rather concentrate on them, which is a fantastic idea but i wasn't expecting it to come from kael. If helios begged, i would have been fine. Kael should know all hestia did because she wanted revenge(well he doesn't know the fact that hestia has seen him die in her last life) for kael and he shouldn't have begged for diana. Leave it to others, this made me think maybe. maybe he still had a tiny bit of softness in corner of his heart for diana since he loved her so much that he was ready to kill others and himself. It could be because he doesn't want to deal with as well or for the fact that he knows one shouldn't give their everything in love like he did and got betrayed and didn't want hestia to waste her time for revenge. But i still feel the kael character could have been written a little better. Like there is no personality apart from being the guy who got betrayed and tried to kill himself and now recovering. This is just what i think and i read only spoilers. If anyone knows something different, you are free to oppose this because i truly want to understand this kael character!

yeah from what i remember in the novel, kael’s reasoning behind not going thru with the dethronement was bc he wanted to move on and focus on his relationship w hestia (as u said), and helios had actually asked kael to not dethrone diana as well. imo i genuinely don’t think he still had feelings for diana, as his interactions with her after these events was very indifferent. he kinda just treats her as if she’s not there. and i assume that he was also thinking about hestia’s wellbeing as well bc he knows that hestia is hellbent on revenge and its not very healthy. i remember that when he confronted hestia about this, he also mentioned that he didn’t want diana and helios to be something that hestia had to worry about anymore. he didn’t want anyone getting in the way of his relationship w hestia, cause he was that in love w her at this point of the story.
however, kael’s main issue in doing this and wanting to let go of the issue w diana is that he didn’t properly convey his reasoning and led to hestia believing that he still had feelings for diana. this led to hestia spiralling and kael being absolutely devastated when he found out how hurt hestia was.

Yep.. exactly, there were mny reason behind but he didn't properly convey it to hestia. So my disappointment is more because i was execting him to stand with hestia or at least communicate with her peoperly because Hestia frankly didn't expect anything in return. Well in novel hestia kinda lost purpose of her life suddenly when kael said he wouldn't support disthronement, and had thoughts like what to do with life now and how if can she get back to her own world. This shows, although she loved Kael, she might have gone back to her own world if given a chance. So when Kael didn't even do bare minimum(like i know leo is his friend and he asked but boi he is the one betrayed first and it was due to hestia you are out that),i got disappointed. For real Kael's devastation gave me frustration, like you are the reason in the first place why hestia is like this. Open your damn mouth you idiot and speak, no one will know if you don't. You almost died also because you couldn't speak, and now you wanna repeat that! I speed read the novel and until that point Kael never opposed anything hestia did like he said, she can do anything. Which is why hestia went on her revenge idea, thinking this way maybe the other two will apologize and kael will be happy. Hestia always said, she will follow anything if kael wants it but he never did. And suddenly at the end, when the last step is remaining you come out said ohhhh! I didn't want this, I won't do that! Think a little about her efforts you bastard!
sorry,sorry,,, i don't know why this novel gave me a headache and shout at kael character. Had it been a real character I might kick, slao, grill, broil, skin him!

when i read this part in the novel i felt how hurt hestia was and couldn’t get over it until now. it left a bitter taste in my mouth
putting all my faith into the manhwa adaptation bc kaelus in the novel was so bad at communicating and was just not as green as i’d hoped
