IT HAS REAL HISTORY INTERTWINED???? So thorfinns character is based off of a historical figure?
YHHHH IT IS! I looked it up asw some point when I first watched s1 and Thorfinn is a historical figure, he was known as an explorer and he did find Vinland with Gudrid :)
my curiousity really got the best of me and I looked up the history of the real Thorfinn Karlsefni, I guess I spoiled myself big time lol. While a lot of the vinland saga's story obviously isn't historically accurate I'm surprised that a lot of the characters stories are actually true. The author did a rlly good job mixing historical tales with his own story.
