Here's the thing, let's say Dan got fed up, slapped by reality but now what? Based on his personality he's naive, delusional and dumb. I can't even imagine dan saying "fuck you I'm out, ain't gonna see you again, gonna live alone and change my life to jaekyung". Remember he's indebted and relied on Jaekyung a lot. He can't say NO, he will do whatever he ask. He will remain as damsel in distress the one I hate.
Author will most likely push "He's crazy so I'm gonna change him trope" like how dan will remain at jaekyung side during his darkest day, dan will help and comfort him yada yada. Then jaekyung will go dumb badumb because of how dan was this and that. In the name of kindness lo and behold he changed! Jaekyung was madly in love and it become wholesome and cute.
