There are toxic love,, where love turns into over obsession, over jealously etc... And where you know the person is not right but you don't want to let them go just for your satisfaction... Seriously I have seen many love which turn toxic in the end... It when "love take the wrong direction"
I still wouldn't say it's love. For me, love is to care for a person and make them happy. It might start with attraction and then turn into love. But when that attraction wears off and there's only possession and selfishness left... I wouldn't say there ever was any love there.
Well, I can't really judge what's there inside his heart, but I believe a person's actions is the mirror of their feelings. So even if a person says they love you, but will only torture you, I find it quite absurd to believe in that.
That's why that's called "toxic love"
