At one point she asked her admirer to get rid of Layla, which he tried (to rap* her) and failed. She did everything she could to the girl so that Layla would live in hell if she accepted to be Matthias’s mistress. Her background story did not give her enough excuses to act the way she was to Layla, knowing Layla was just a bird trapped by her fiance. And there was no redemption act for her at the end of the book. At that point I really didn’t give af about her bad ending since I was busy getting mad at Matthias
I don't hate cludine she never hurt layla badly she just sat quietly the whole time ... She got mad at just layla one time, when she realized that the Duke is going to leave her. Even know she didn't really wanted layla as a friend she was still polite with her. She knew everything but she choice to be the lady that she wanted to since she was a kid i can't hate her after knowing that she was building a life in her head with that man she also was ready for him to cheat on her but she didn't do anything
