I support the same theory. He fell in love with a dead soul and must have messed up with rupes big time and got punished or something. So now, he's looking out for his fren, even if we don't like it.
i agree. i feel like if this is true his character will get a lot of hate, however i truly believe he’s trying to look out for him.

i think his reaper friend might make sure to “get his heart back” or whatever he says bc he knows what’ll happen if he falls for the dead. he said he has an unlimited sentence of being a reaper or whatever so what if it’s bc he fell for the dead?
