You’re right about the students and parents mistreating teachers, but not all teachers were innocent. There’s multiple cases of them beating up and hurting children, especially in lower income areas. It’s not as widely covered by SK media, who tend to paint South Korean teachers ( unless it’s an international school, most teachers are government employees) in a better light.
One of the gruesome cases off the top of my head is the Gwangju Inhwa case, where the principle and teachers beat and rape hearing impaired children for years, even murdering a child. School finally closed down in 2011
A more recent one would be in 2022, elementary teacher in seoul served six months in prison and two years of probation for violating the child abuse punishment act (he hit the child so hard, he passed out and broke several teeth)
There’s also instances where convicted sex offenders as pedophiles become teachers for many years, molesting and hurting many children before they’re finally discovered.

this is incorrect and misinformation that you should not be spreading. Every country has their own issues and unfortunately coming from someone with experience, bullying does get like this in Asian countries. Just because of certain “right” or “Justice seeking” instances, it does not erase the systemic issue rooted within the korean education and social problem!

I’m talking about “Korea” not the whole Asia !
Bullying in Korean schools is absolutely a real thing but most of it is done by other students! Corporal punishment was legal in korean school until 2010 but now it’s banned! Now the biggest bullies have become some of the students and their parents!
I know educational system is harsh in Asian countries (I’ve gone through that nightmare myself ) but teachers won’t punish their students like the way it’s showing in here ,at least it’s not something that commonly happens!

No ofc I get what you’re getting at, Sorry it was late so let me just rephrase/add on that korea being in asia means that it does happen in, Korea. also it does happen from teachers and just because it’s banned does not mean it does not occur, additionally the teachers turn a blind eye to bullying which parents have spoken out on in certain cases, being a bystander makes you an enabler and participant in bullying in this case because of that power dynamic between the student and teacher if that makes sense in my opinion

Corporal punishment like how it’s depicted in this Manhwa NEVER happens in Korean schools( and I believe it never happens in any modern society in this day and age) because it can result in losing their job specially in public schools ! Is there no maltreatment by teachers? Yes , there is ! To this extreme? Hellll no!
Is there a culture of bullying(by classmates ) in SOME Asian countries’ schools? Yes but unrelated to what’s happening here !
Don’t make it complicated and have a nice day !
like i understand that this is just a manhwa but teachers literally can’t beat up anybody like that, let alone for 8 years straight without getting punished. not only for this manhwa but literally every manhwa that takes place in a school has this sort of thing, as if there’s no inspections or nobody to control
