in the live-action series, mc ends up with the a guy (kikuchi, ch19) who was interested in him bc he helped out with photocopying materials. bear in mind this ending came about bc ayato's friend (hatano, ch19 extras) was never introduced.
so it just makes sense that in the long-run, mc would definitely end up with hatano.
