She did say she didn’t know he was gonna touch her until after the marriage when she had already fell in love with him. Its not really her fault. She was gonna kill him but honestly she would have rather died because its all pointless. Her husband had found her making his poison after all
She knew it was a possibility. Everytime she came “home” from lord knows where, she’d find her sister r*ped or beaten. Why would it change now that she was away? Common sense dictates those people are not to be trusted and that things would only get worse with her being away. That’s where the lack of intelligence or plain old denial comes through. She quite literally could’ve killed her husband on their wedding night, but she couldn’t because her moral compass got in the way, which I get. But she could’ve also asked her husband for help in rescuing her sister. Did she do that? I’m not sure because I quite frankly started to skip ahead to see if her sister’s situation progressed. Once I realized she basically just got used to being r*ped and then I saw the MC blushing with her husband a chapter later, that’s when I dropped it. A story that intense with trauma is lacking the depth I need from it. And the fact that I have more compassion and interest in the sister than the MC is also a reason to drop.
So she knows her sister is being r*ped and beaten every day but she has the space to fall in love and refuse to kill the persons who as far as she’s concerned, would allow her to save her sister? We all know that’s not going to save them from shxt, but the lack of intelligence from the MC who knows that her sisters is still being assaulted is appalling to me. Can’t read this shxt.
