I can see that. What I want, understand his reasons. Even if it's disgusting, I want to know his purpose. I don't think it's all about having Rubi by himself. He's planning something more complicated about his country, his family and Iske but i cant figure it out ┗( T﹏T )┛

No info so far. But that's the thing with this kind of character fiction or real life. They thrive in the thrill of controlling people. As for Rubi acting normally. That's the thing about abused people. Even tho you know you were done wrong. Because of some fuck up environment we cultivate, the abused's mind will think they deserve it and speaking up is the worst thing they can do. They think people will judge them for not speaking up early, or why did they even speak up about their abuse.

You might think that scenario is dumb. But we as people are dumb and that's how a lot of abused people would think, victim blaming themselves and sometimes even fearing that the abuser would hurt them further or theit loved ones more if they fight back. People who got trauma from abused are not some shounen protagonist that after a pep talk would see the light and stand up for their self and everything would go right. And people acting normal even in the face of their abuser does not mean they are weird. The abused can sometimes smile and laugh at their abuser's face if needed but I bet you the last thing they want is to br pleasant and civil
